WAFFLE-crete

PRECAST CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION

The Waffle-Crete construction process brings the speed and efficiency of a precast concrete factory right to the job site. Add the benefits of reduced materials, skill level requirements, and training and you end up with one of the fastest and most cost-effective forms of concrete construction in the world. The U.S. patented (Serial No. 17/189, 547) Waffle-Crete molds are easily adaptable to desired dimensions and are highly reusable.

WAFFLE-CRETE PROJECTS

Waffle-Crete panels have been widely used and have undergone extensive evaluation including destructive and non-destructive testing, since the system was developed in 1976. As a result of this research and extensive experience in the field, the Waffle-Crete System can be used with confidence.

It has a proven record of performance in the corrosive humid environment of the tropics, typhoon-prone areas of the Philippines, and areas of intense seismic activity such as Southern California, Indonesia, and Central America. Interest in the system is worldwide and growing rapidly. A wide variety of single and multistory building needs are being met with this simple, fast, precise, versatile, and proven economical system. Thousands of buildings utilizing the system have already been built.

WAFFLE-CRETE STEPS

SIMPLE SET UP

Pans are hollow and contain numerous longitudinal and transverse ribs extending along the length and width of the pans. Ribs are positioned and formed to provide super strength and durability and to enable nesting of pans when stacked vertically for shipping. Pans include built-in holes extending through the top wall to allow installation of fastener or anchor through the pans and into underlying decking. During casting, molds simply set on any flat, rigid, level surface. They are light-weight and may be readily moved on and off the casting bed or from job-site to job-site.

EASY TO POUR

Concrete is placed directly in molds by ready-mix truck or other types of concrete placing equipment. A specially designed vibrating screed strikes off and consolidates concrete in one pass. A wide variety of appealing surface finishes can be readily accomplished. Blockouts for windows, doors, or other openings, and bulkheads for making partial panels are simple to install and secure. Blockouts and bulkheads may be nailed to the domes without damage to the molds. Nail holes are self-filling and so not cause significant blemishes on panels or shorten mold life.

CURES OVERNIGHT

Tough, insulated curing covers protect the panel surface; trap the heat generated by the hydration of the cement; and also trap the moisture that is present during the curing process. Trapped heat accelerates the curing process and panels cure overnight without external heat. Trapped moisture reduces surface shrinkage cracks. Each of your molds can be available for use everyday.

LIGHT-WEIGHT & MOVEABLE

Once cured, panels are light-weight and easy to move to job site. Use of recommended form release agents promotes easy stripping and cleaning for quick reuse. Panels store and ship flat and are easy to load and haul on standard flatbed trailers, eliminating the need for expensive vertical panel racks. Rigging is simple, keeping hookup and disconnect time to a minimum. Bolt-together panels secure quickly, and temporary bracing requirements are also kept to a minimum. Skilled crews can set and secure between 2,000-4,000 sq./ft. of panels per day.
