PROCESS INTERIOR

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

The waffle pattern in panels formed by Waffle-Crete molds offers many benefits during casting and erection. Most notably, up to 60% of concrete and steel and related costs are eliminated. The voids in each panel offer additional benefits when finishing the interior of buildings.

KEY FEATURES

The voids formed by the waffle pattern in panels offer a convenient location to hide insulation and wiring. There are many low cost options to finish a Global Technology Building System interior that are both functional and attractive.

INTERIOR TREATMENTS

Panels can be insulated
by filling voids with either fiberglass or spray foam
insulation. In extremely cold climates, foamboard
can be added as shown. Optional notches in the
ribs can be cast into panels to facilitate wiring.
The waffle pattern can be covered with sheetrock,
cement board, lath & plaster, or left exposed.
Exposed waffles are recommended for low-income
housing. If the waffles are left exposed, electrical
components and wiring are typically surface
mounted on the ribs.

INTERIOR FINISHES
The combination of painted voids and solid walls
in the office above not only minimizes finishing
costs but also adds interest to the decor. Both
surfaces work equally well for hanging pictures.
The electrical raceways on the ceiling and left
wall are an easy and inexpensive option to hide
wiring. Even without insulation this low cost
house in Jamaica stays cool because the
concrete's mass absorbs heat during the
day and then dissipates it at night.

                @ Global Technology Building Systems,

We do not just provide an economical building system.
We help others afford to live in safe and well-built properties.

Currently more than 1.6 billion people in developing countries live in unsafe,
substandard housing, and this number is projected to grow to more than 3 billion,
or over 40% of the world’s population, within the next 20 years.

According to a UN Habitat report “accessibility and affordability” are among the key
reasons for the world’s shortage of durable housing. The report asserts that safe,
durable housing is out of reach of the vast majority of the world’s poor.

We believe that the Global Technology Building Systems have the potential to represent
the turning point to this global housing crisis because it uniquely facilitates construction
that is both durable and affordable.

Each Global Technology Building Systems unit that replaces an informal makeshift shelter
could mean one more family with a roof that doesn't leak when it rains and a door that locks
to keep them safe at night, And each unit with indoor plumbing could mean another family
less likely to contract diseases, like dysentery and malaria.

We recognize and accept the profound moral responsibility we have to use our unique
advantage to make a difference in the world, and we welcome the help of partners
who would like to join us in this mission.
